FAQ

Q1: What is a 'Healthy Town'?

After a tough selection process Portsmouth was chosen as one of nine ‘healthy towns’ in the country, securing £3.1 million of funding to help us be more active and eat healthier. We were successful because we showed that achieving a healthy weight for all is a local priority and we are committed to creating a 'healthy town' and reducing health inequalities in Portsmouth.

Q2: Why does Portsmouth need to be a 'Healthy Town?

Maintaining a healthy weight is key to health and quality of life. The increase in obesity is one of the most important public health threats facing the people of Portsmouth.
