Health screenings are offered to you at times in your life when you are at a higher risk from a disease or health condition (such as certain cancers) that can be tested for.
They are offered to everyone because they could save many lives or prevent serious health problems for a significant number of people who do not have symptoms that would cause them to seek help at an early stage of the illness.
The test will look for early signs of the disease so that you can be offered treatment that can stop the condition becoming more serious. You will be eligible for different screenings at different times in your life.
