A special judging panel comprising representatives from Coast Radio, public health specialists from Portsmouth City Council and NHS Portsmouth and members of the Healthy Pompey team gathered on Monday to select a winning advert for the Healthy Pompey Agency competition. Last week Year 6 children from nine schools across the city took part in a workshop focusing on the eight Change4Life key messages which culminated in them writing a script for a radio ad. This morning a winner was selected and the winning pupils will have their advert professionally produced later this week. The 30-second advert to promote healthy eating, active lifestyles and the Healthy Pompey website will be broadcast for the first time on next Monday on the Coast breakfast show and will air throughout the summer. Details of the winning advert to be revealed shortly.
"The standard of the scripts was very high and there were some incredibly creative and amusing entries, but in the end we came to a unanimous decision and look forward to revealing the winner later this week," said Susie Waller, Head of Health Improvement & Development at Portsmouth City Council.
