Learning Links is a Hampshire based social enterprise and registered charity that enables individuals and organisations to access learning opportunities and training and works to address many of the issues related to social exclusion.

The Health Trainer service contributes to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting local people to develop healthier behaviours and lifestyles in the context of their own local communities. 

They are currently seeking a Specialist Weight Management Health Trainer to work solely with weight management clients that have been referred to the Portsmouth Health Trainer service. The focus of this role is to work with individuals, which have been recognised as being obese with a body mass index of between 35 and 40.

You will offer one-to-one behaviour change support to individuals wishing to manage their weight in line with the services, weight management protocols and pathways as well as signposting, networking and liaising with local health improvement providers.

The successful candidate will hold the City and Guilds level 3 qualification in Health Training  (or equivalent) and a level 2 qualification in weight management (or equivalent).  You will be supported to achieve a level 3 qualification in weight management.

The post is based in Portsmouth, the hours are 37hrs per week and the salary is £15,500 p.a. pro rata (fixed term to end Sept 2012).
