Children’s Healthy Weight Care Pathway Co-ordinator
Health and wellbeing are fundamental elements in our search to improve our quality of life and research indicates that these elements are embedded from early childhood. Bodymorph Ltd is looking for a Children’s Healthy Weight Care pathway co-ordinator with a background in nutrition, public health, and/or dietetics who would like to join our team which has a focus on “health optimisation”.
This project is a collaboration between Bodymorph and Portsmouth City Public Health Team, as part of a larger agenda to address local issues around childhood overweight and obesity. The initial focus of the role is to assess the local need and provide a gap analysis on healthy weight services for children and their families within Portsmouth city. This information will then be used to create a care pathway, running from pre-birth to 19 years, detailing universal, targeted and specialist services available in Portsmouth city. This will cover universal services to promote healthy weight and provide early identification of those at risk of overweight and obesity or those children whom already have weight issues, and targeted and specialist interventions available to assist these children and their families.
The role will involvethe development of a programme to support this care pathway, looking at how work currently occurring can be included, developing and piloting new interventions to fill identified gaps in provision through multi-agency partnership working. This post will have a responsibility for coordinating, developing and delivering education, policies, and audits that maintain a high standard of day to day evidence based paractice. The opportunity, which is currently offered as 1.0 WTE for 18 months will be split between the Bodymorph Ltd offices and NHS Portsmouth, located at the Portsmouth City Council offices.
Pay rate TBC depending on experience - equivalent to NHS Band 6 (£25528 to £29464 per annum) 1.0 wte (18 months fixed term contract).
